Top 10 tips to balance lifting and life

October 28, 2014

Life can get in the way of getting Jack3d, but it doesn’t need to. IFBB Pro Angela Yamashita & 2x Mr. Tennessee Men’s Physique Champion Dustin Starr of TEAM USPlabs balance both family and fitness using these key points.

My day is always busy from the moment I wake up. It’s so important that I have every moment scheduled. I schedule clients, eating, personal line, and training. My schedule is always at my fingertips.

I couldn’t balance my life without the support of my family and friends. They all understand how demanding my daily life is and they are always there to help me. If it’s to go to the grocery store to pick something up or to help me find my keys I know I can rely on them.

I ENJOY what I do. I’m passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle. I love to help people achieve their goals, and inspire others. I would continue to workout and be active even if there were no trophies at the end of a goal that I have.

Communication is key to everyone’s daily life. Its so important to be able to have the ability to clearly communicate the information to others in order to get through a workout, meeting, and my day.

Balancing lifting and life take all of the above and also incorporating the right supplements into your day is the most important. I believe that USPLABS supplements not only give me the energy, they help me recover, and they fuel my body. Believing in a product and what it can do for you will not only enhance your day… will also prepare you for the next day to come.

When your day is jam-packed with work, family & even events – be sure to use the most of the time you have. If it means waking up early to get your workout in – do it. If it means going later – be prepared to do so. Manage your time so that you can be flexible and workout when the time is there.

When life gets in the way, your preparation will become key to your success. While cooking dinner, cool enough for several meals – not just one. This way, meals are prepped and you can replenish your body without a long delay after exercising. Preparation is key.

It is very important to choose the correct facility in which you train. Do the hours of operation match up to your personal needs? How about child care, if necessary? Don’t let the gym itself stand in the way of you working out.

Always have back-up. Whether it’s gym clothing, exercises, meals – be sure to have a back-up plan, just in case. You never know what machine might be taken, while you’ve planned your training around it. Be sure to have meals & shakes, just in case your early or late throughout the day. Bring extra clothing so you will not have to worry about the “what if” factors of your already busy day.

If you’re anything like us, you love to train. You want to reach your goals by any means necessary. So, why let things that you might not be able to control affect your workout plan? HAVE FUN. Get it done while listening to your favorite tunes, lifting with your favorite gym partner & even drinking your favorite pre-workout (#Jack3d for me!)

You workout because you love the results. Don’t let life get in the way of something you enjoy!

Happy lifting!
