Recipe: Swole and Spice Oatmeal

The secret to dieting is to love how you live. Embrace family, share good times with friends and savor the feast. However, for those of us who are looking to shred a few layers before summer, the “Feast” is usually few and far between. So for a family friendly treat that satisfies the sweet tooth without “cashing in” a sacred cheat meal, try this easy recipe.

Swole & Spice Oatmeal

  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/6 Cup Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend (optional: 1/3 Cup brown sugar)
  • 2 Apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/6 Cup Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend (optional: 1/3 Cup brown sugar)
  • 1 Cup Steel Cut Oats
  • 4 Cups Water
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Scoop of ModernPROTEIN (Coming Soon!)

Mix your apples, cinnamon and sugar in the crockpot, making sure the apples are completely coated. Add oats, water and salt, and stir well. Turn the slow cooker on low, cover, and let cook for 8 hours on low. (This works best when your crockpot automatically turns to *warm* when timer goes off). Mix in one scoop of protein prior to serving.
